FAMILY APPOINTMENTS

orthodontics paediatric dentistry

When your child is six or seven years old and you are having doubts whether he or she may need braces in the longer term, you should discuss this with your family dentist during your family appointment. It is never too early to ask this question.

At dental practice Van de Veer we then schedule a paediatric orthodontic consult, at which we examine the dentition, the jaws and the face.

As soon as your child starts shedding his or her front teeth (upper and lower jaw), we can determine whether in principle there is sufficient space for the permanent teeth. Furthermore we can tell if the upper and lower jaw fit together nicely to rule out malocclusion (misalignment between the teeth of the two dental arches). Trust us when we say that your child will benefit from such a consult for the rest of his or her life.
