Milk teeth

DENTAL TREATMENTS

milk teeth

The development of baby teeth starts as early as the 6th week of the pregnancy. It is often mistakenly thought that milk teeth are not all that important. After all, they will be replaced by 'real' teeth and molars anyway. Nothing could be less true.

The premature loss of milk teeth can cause problems with space and misalignment in the permanent dentition. Apart from the function of the milk teeth as the basis for healthy teeth, we also consider it important to allow children to get used to the idea that their teeth have to be properly cared for. Even if they are only capable of brushing without supervision from the age of 10.

During a family visit to Van de Veer Dentists we will always carry out a quick check-up of your child's teeth.
